Washing the World
Amazingly, with Sat Kriya

Bed sadhana on the morning of February 7th, 2007, was immersion in Peace. So much so that I did not wish to get out of bed! Guru bathed me in all-encompassing bliss. At 7:00am I started thinking about bedsores (me?!), and the fact that I only had half an hour before doing Sat Kriya if I were to fit it in before children arrived.

By Guru’s grace there was time to do bed yoga, shower, dress and complete Japji. I even cleaned an indoor baby rabbit cage and, still deeply calm, began my beloved Sat Kriya.

This calmness gave profound awareness. I marveled on entering Sat Kriya, that on calling upon the Adi Shakti, the primordial female power, I effortlessly found myself on the lap of the Divine Mother, as in my 1990's shamanic upper world vision, drinking in the sweet Amrit of Cosmic Wisdom. I suckled to my heart’s content, on Sat drawing it in and on Nam swallowing during the entire Bhujang Pryaat Chand of Guru Gobind Singh’s Jaap Sahib. She is ever-present for me.

With each Pauri of Jaap Sahib I moved on to a Guru, beginning with the first Guru, Guru Nanak, to be blessed with his love of Oneness. Then I lovingly emulated Lahena, who passed Guru Nanak’s trying tests of Maya to merge with Guru Nanak’s Light beyond personality and form to become Guru Angad, and was swept up with Guru Angad’s love for the Divine.

With the next Pauri I was under Guru Amar Das’s beard, absorbing love of God from the cosmic beat of his heart. Of Guru Ram Das, I asked for neutrality of mind so as to transcend my profound love for this Lord of Miracles into pure love of God.

"Ek Ong Kaar, Sat Gur Prasaad, Sat Gur Prasaad, Ek Ong Kaar"—my personal mantra reverberated in my mind while I was doing Sat Kriya, blending silently with Sat Nams, going deep into my subconscious to carry out darkness, doubt and confusion evoked by confrontation with Truth, Gur Prasaad—by Guru’s Grace, merging me in divine Oneness.

With Guru Arjan, my focus re-entered the Sat Kriya mudra, reaching with him as One into the heavens of consciousness. It was brief, power-packed and egoless—Guru Gaiytree Mantra sounding in the background—Chacharee Chhand, Twv Prasaad.

Guru Hargobind danced eloquently with two swirling Siri Sahib Swords, merging realms of heaven and earth with the circling chakars of Bhujang Pryaat Chand.

Merciful, humble Guru Har Rai drenched me in Mercy. I remembered how Shanti Kaur’s words had evoked Guru Har Rai during the Akal Takht Gurdwara the night before, and felt his worldly pain as it was given back to God, God’s sweetness permeating his life, my life, through Jaap Sahib's Chacharee Chhand.

When Guru Har Krishan came to support me with innocent power, I welcomed him in to heal a kink in my neck, residual infection in my sinuses, and to invigorate my entire being to meet the challenge of my destiny—Bhagavatee Chand, Twv Prasaad Kathatay.

Sublime Guru of the Gurus, Guru Teg Bahadur, raised me to a rarified realm where vast miracles were forming to bless our Earth—Chacharee Chhand.

Guru Gobind Singh, whom I had once seen balance the Earth on the tip of his sword with no explanation, balanced an image of the Earth upon my raised fingertips, as I lovingly reached to spiritual heights with Sat Kriya—Charpat Chhand, Twv Prasaad.

Following Guru Gobind Singh I normally move on to the saints within the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, but that day thought to do differently, and applied Sat Kriya and phrases from the next Pauri of Jaap Sahib to evoke the blessings of the Golden Temple’s healing Saffron—the earth upon which the Golden Temple rests, the lovely bricks of which the Golden Temple was first constructed, and its moon-like Marble and sun-like Gold—Rasaaval Chhand, Twv Prasaad.

With these elements the wash water was complete, full of blessed vibrations for healing consciousness. I called upon the saints to join me with the motion of Sat Kriya to wash away all cares. Saints and Gurus came, to my surprise, surrounding the Earth on my fingertips, joyfully swishing wash water up and down and around the planet, cleansing away surface debris, fears and lies and illusions, through the Golden Temple’s blissful healing elements—with Jaap Sahib's Bhagavatee Chhand, Twv Prasaad.

The wash usually goes to a rinse cycle, where I dip up and down in the Amrit Sarovar, the tank of healing waters that surround the Golden Temple. But on this day, with Madhu Bhaar Chhand, Twv Prasaad, the Gurus and saints put me through a wringing-out phase—not me, but the Earth! I felt all the toxicity, trauma and black gluck of the most evil nature imaginable being wrung out, this way and that—total gore! Unbelievable! And began getting sucked into it! Begging to be pulled free, Guru told me to hold onto my silent mantra, "Ek Ong Kaar Sat Gur Prasaad Sat Gur Prasaad Ek Ong Kaar", which miraculously dispelled all darkness.

On Har Bol Manaa Chand, Twv Prasaad, we bathed the earth in the Amrit Sarovar for the rinse cycle, which cleared away smoggy thought forms, rinsed out from its depths. It was a blissful phase, bobbing in and out of the Nectar Waters, breaking through the surface with the same joyful exuberance as diving through an ocean wave, the Earth immersed in and out Nectar, over and over again.

Climbing into the etheric realm above the Golden Temple with Bhujang Pryaat Chhand, the Earth was blessed with a final rinse of Gurbani Kirtan filled skies, and set out to dry with Ayk Achharee Chhand, the Earth radiating, spinning distilled Amrit in every direction into the heavens.

On the final rung of Jaap Saahib, the last Bhujang Pryaat Chhand, the earth dwelt in Cosmic Light as Akaal Moorat, undying being.

After the last “Sat Nam” of Sat Kriya and thirty-first minutes of Jaap Sahib, on "Bibhootay!" I inhaled, held my breath and stretched up to bless the Earth with V-I-C-T-O-R-Y, to sustain the cleansing of our planet’s soul.

So began another day of caring for the Lord’s innocent children, animals and peaceful sancturay.
