The Morning Prayer is a self-blessing given by Yogi
Bhajan so we could sublimate sexual and sensual neuroses to live healthy, happy
and divinely attuned lives.
It is a simple process. The blessing is
done by placing one's hands on upon chakras and different facets of the body
and mentally saying, "I bless my forehead, I bless my eyes, I blessmy ears," and so forth. This is how I
performed the morning blessing for many years.
My experience of the morning blessing
deepened with the daily practice of Sat Kriya beginning in 2003. During the
next three years, Sat Kriya broke through my attachments and became a way of
calling upon the Sikh Gurus to pray for others and, in 2008, through Guru Gobind
Singh's intervention, to wash the world.
The natural result in the morning blessing was to bless myself with Gurus love by making affirmations, "We hear only the Truth", "Our love is God's Love", augmenting
the blessings beyond imagination.
One day in 2010, as I began the morning
blessing in the early Amrit Vela, I flicked on Punjabi TV to listen to Bangala
Sahib kirtan, and felt softly, almost imperceptibly how Guru Gobind Singh was
sending blessings through me to the
960 million Pure Ones entering the New Millennium. That "we" had become the
Guru, myself and all the Pure Ones, the worldwide Khalsa.
After each blessing, "Ang Sang
Wah-hay Guroo" can be silently beamed through the hands as a "wow!"
realization of God in every atom of your being, deeply confirming that
blessing's reality. With the deepened awareness of serving the 960
million,"Ang Sang Waheguru" saturates Guru Gobind
Singh's 960 million Pure Ones with each blessing, awakening every facet of
their being to their destiny.
To understand how this works, inhale the thought of the blessing and exhale "Ang Sang Waheguru." The exhaled breath is "Pawan Guru"--Guru the air element, whose blessings easily reach around the world.
This powerful Morning Prayer is performed upon waking
while lying on the back. All except the first blessing, "Humee Hum Brahm Hum,"
are chanted, breathed, silently:
1.With the right arm down alongside the body, the
left hand gently taps
the soft spot on top of the head as you say aloud, "Humee Hum
Brahm Hum," ("God and me are One"). The
left hand touches the rear soft spot on women and the frontal
soft spot on men.
2.Fingers
resting on the forehead, "We know the Unknown is known
to us."
3.Hands
on the eyes, feel "God sees through our eyes."
6. Fingers
blessing
the mouth, "We speak only Truth."
7. Hands
placed softly upon the throat, "Baba Nanak, Ang Sang Wah-Hay
Guroo!"
"Nanak"
translates, "One who never says no." Guru Nanak frees you fromthe
suppression of hearing and speaking "No" and lies, which block the throat
chakra, and liberates your power of truthful expression.
8.Palms
crossed upon the heart, "Our love is God's Love."
9. Hands
on the abdomen, "God processes all that God gives us."
10.Hands
over the sex organs, "God transmutes Piscean consciousness into
Aquarian consciousness."
11. Hands
on the thighs, "God's Will is our will."
12. Palms
on the knees, "Our balance with the earth equals our balance with
the Heavens."
13. Hands
on the shins, "Our standard is God's Standard."
14. Hands
on top of the feet, "Our path and destiny are One."
15. Fingers
extending straight over the toes, "Our direction is clear and natural."
16. Palms
on the soles of your feet, "Our feet bless the Earth and the Earth
blesses us!"
17. Hands
over the upper arms, stroking downwards, "Our reach is God's
reach to embrace, guide, comfort and serve."
18. Bringing
the hands together in prayer pose at the heart, beam, "Our hands
do God's Work, "Ek Ong Kar, Sat Kartar!"
"Ek
Ong Kar, Sat Kartar" means "There is one Creator, Truth, the
Doer."By
saying "Ek Ong Kar, Sat Kartar," even silently, before an endeavor
God arranges
your affairs.
19. Slowly, lightly stroke your face with your fingertips from the hairline downto
the chin as you mentally chant, "Ad Guray Namay, Jugad Guray Namay, Sat
Guray Namay, Siri Guru Devay Namay," three times in succession. As you do so, you can bless the planet and all beings by simply making it your intention, caressing, blessing the earth's uneven surface with loving care.
When you apply the awareness of serving
the 960 million pure ones entering the New Millennium, on "Ang Sang Waheguru," each facet of Guru Gobind
Singh's 960 million Pure Ones is nurtured to awaken to them to their highest destiny.
In
sending loving blessings to others, divine blessings return to you a
thousand fold.
