On October 20th, 1988, the Siri Singh Sahib explained in detail the technology of chanting Japji Sahib in morning group Sadhana.
He made a drawing to illustrate the energy patterns that occur when men and women sit in formation and alternately recite a line of Japji aloud.
As shown in the diagram, men and women face the front of the room with men
seated on the right and women seated on the left. Both men and women sit in
straight lines directly behind one another.
Ideally, everyone is facing Siri Guru Granth Sahib or the Manji where the Guru
usually sits.
The Siri Singh Sahib explained in greater depth that when the men speak aloud,
the women simultaneously whisper the words, and when the women speak aloud, the
men simultaneously whisper the words. In this way everyone gains the total
benefit of the tongue stimulating various meridian points on the roof of the
mouth and the powerful group focus of reciting Japji Sahib in its entirety.
The drawing at the top of this page is based on the Siri Singh Sahib's original
diagram. Note the curved lines from left to right and right to left,
representing the energy flow that occurs in the call and response recitation of
Japji Sahib between the men and women and, how by facing the Siri Guru Granth,
everyone is absorbed into the vortex of radiant energy emanating from the One
Creator onto the Siri Guru Granth Sahib to merge their energies with the One
Lord.
The Siri Singh Sahib said that "the Guru is a direct pathway to God."
