My favorite time for extending healing prayer to the earth or to someone in need is immediately following the practice of a Kundalini Yoga Kriya. Kundalini Yoga Kriyas engage the body, mind and soul through posture, mantra and conscious breathing. They are great preparation for channeling energy in blessing.
On the final inhale of a kriya where the breath is held in, lovingly call upon divine energy through the crown chakra and simultaneously allow it to beam out the hands and third eye. Your body is charged with energy and the mind sublimely attuned, enabling you to effortlessly engage with Earth's vast energy field. Embrace it with your arms and hands, connecting with this heavenly matrix, allowing divine energy to travel instantly to bless the earth or whomever you wish to heal.
So darshan Chakra Kriya is my kriya of choice for this purpose because it works
within minutes to get my energy going. On the final inhaled breath I raise my arms up as
if to embrace the earth while bringing awareness into each of my ten
fingers--imagining them to represent the ten Gurus to engage them in the healing prayer. Although my
intention directs the engagement, the healing that pours through is
from the Gurus' vast realm of love.
Together we bless
all earth formations, the oceans, rivers and lakes and rain--all bodies of
water, the polar regions, air and the ozone layer, all elements and all beings within the elements, all human beings, all human
thought and, finally, all humanity reaching as One toward the Divine.
To enhance this healing prayer one may mentally chant, "Ek Ongkaar, Sat Gur Prasaad, Sat Gur Prasaad, Ek Ongkaar," a mantra that transforms darkness into light. Or simply listen to the mantra that was chanted during the kriya as it effortlessly resonates in your consciousness.
I take three deep inhales afterwards, holding each for five to seven seconds, while silently, slowly chanting "V-i-c-t-o-r-y." Yogi Bhajan set up this mantra in the heavens so it may be used on an inheld breath to bring a legion of angels to aid any heallng prayer. During this time, I tighten and stretch every part of my body upwards while facing forward and twisting to each side.
I then relax my breath and vigorously shake everything upwards in each direction and bend over to do leg stretches and stand up to do back bends and shake and
jiggle in a joyful dance. These movements equalize the healing prayer's effects throughout one's being.
