Takhat Hazur Sahib Yatra
The Formless Guru

Majestic Interior Reflects Guru's Granduer
Steps to Main Stage
Friday, October 31st, 2008
Our physical body and genealogy are an illusion. Everyone's soul is forever a part of God. That is our true connection with each other, through the Divine. Still, much of the focus of this yatra celebration has been on Guru Gobind Singh. Honoring Guru Gobind Singh for transferring Guruship to the Siri Guru Granth Sahib we take emphasis off of Siri Guru Granth Sahib and back onto a person, and onto people like ourselves, giving Saropa and commending each other on how well we do at promoting Guru.

This is good reinforcement except for when politics and self-praise are afforded more emphasis than Gurbani Kirtan, the true purpose of coming together in Gurdwara--to listen to and merge with the subtle essence of Guru's words.

Yesterday's speakers at the Main Stage were those with honored positions--for instance the Sikh Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh, for whom people wrangled wrapping a Saropa turban over his turban and saffron Saropa cummerbund around his waist. Great statesmen, holy men, babas and saints and assorted government officials all equally children of God were given Saropa, although no women.

One woman refused to move from the path when asked to make way for the Prime Minister. She solidly held her ground, literally. When asked why, she exclaimed, "At Gurdwara I only move aside for holy saints, not politicians."

I commend her spirit, but her words appear biased and prejudiced unless taken to universal heights and understanding. Guru's gift to us, the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, alone elevates and unites us as one. Such is the purpose of Guru Gobind Singh's Khalsa, the Pure Ones, which necessitated the return of Guruship to the purity of Guru Nanak's Guru, to formlessness, the Word.

I had gone to the Main Stage to meditate on the formless Guru and struggled to stay alert while pretending to pay attention to a stream of politically holy speakers. My politics is to breathe oneness. My adoration of the Guru is to see God in everyone.

You can bow and touch all ten Gurus' feet through all ten fingers any and everywhere, in all directions and the Gurus are there. There is no need to touch a human being's feet.
Our formless, bliss giving Guru is within easy reach through human subtlety.

The Orbs Spheres are Holy Spirit Guardians.
Some have lived before, some are angels.
That is what we look like
When we leave are bodies and how we travel.

Babies can see them,
Also animals see them.

One thing I know for sure...
If you humbly ask them to appear,
They will come jump into the photo!

THE ESSENCE OF THE TRI-CENTENNIAL HAZUR SAHIB CELEBRATION....
"The Birth of the Shabad Guru" a Gurdwara Lecture  by Yogi Bhajan

Guru Gaddi Day--When Siri Guru Granth Sahib was installed as Living Guru of the Sikhs

Hail, hail to this day. Bow, bow, get to your heart and bow your head. This day on the planet Earth, one graceful man, Guru Gobind Singh, merged with God and freed man from the bondage of another man. This was the day when we were given the Shabad Guru as a guide--to bow to, to understand, to read, to study, to guide us forever. For the first time, man's soul became independent. This sovereignty of spirit was celebrated that morning and we are in the congregation of that remembering and understanding deep within us.

When we are disconnected from each other, the Shabad Guru gives us a very precious connection between heavens and earth, between finite and infinity, between values and virtues, between grace and race of mankind. We live our lives with virtues and values rather than fears and calamities and death.

"Nanak Ayvai Janeeai Sabh Aapay Sachiaar..." Nanak, in this way know that all people hold the Truth within themselves.

On this day, Guru Gobind Singh understood the destiny of man. He took it upon himself to prepare man for the new age where man can live by his purity, not by his anxieties. People do not understand what the enemy of purity is. The enemy of purity is one's personal anxiety, and in anxiety man becomes weak and poor. Humiliated, his thoughts go totally berserk; he mixes up a lot of things which do not mean anything to him. Now when he has the Shabad Guru, he has the strength of the soul, he has the understanding of love; he has the guidance of the Guru. He knows that other than God within, there is no help; it can't come from outside.

We are the children of God, the Khalsa Nation, spiritual and sovereign. Hail, hail this day when man became free, competent, compassionate, caring and sovereign.

Wahe Guru Ji Ka Khalsa,
Wahe Guru Ji Ki Fateh!
